I love, Love, LOVE drinking my lactation tea. I have been drinking this since shortly after the twins were born, and I really think it has helped me to be able to produce enough milk for 2 babies. Every time I have recommended this tea to another breastfeeding mom they have come back and told me that they notice a difference between the days they drink the tea, and they days they do not.
The only problem is, for the tea to work you have to be able to drink between 3-5 glasses of tea a day! To me, I don’t mind the taste, and I kind of like it. A little lemon and sugar and I am good. However, you can only drink the same tea over and over again until you just can’t anymore. You need variety and to mix things up. I love to combine it with different creamers and flavors, and I have some great tea recipes HERE. With the summer months quickly approaching, I wanted something a little different. That is when inspiration hit me!
Everyone loves a good smoothie, and for moms, what could be better. This Refreshing Recipe for Lactation is all about amping up that milk production! It is low in fat and calories, high in protein, and of course has all the milk producing goodness found in traditional lactation tea. To Make:
1. Brew a cup of your favorite lactation tea, let it cool
2. In your blender add all the ingredients (amounts are up to you)
3. BLEND UNTIL SMOOTH
